SAN JUAN DE GAZTELUGATXE (Bermeo): Dragonstone.

Dragonstone is a stunning and ancient fortress besides the sea property of House Targaryen up until it was usurped by Robert I who then gifted this castle to his brother Stannis Baratheon. 

This breathtaking castle, the early home of her family, is the first thing Daenerys Targaryan sees from her ship in her highly anticipated return to Westeros. A scene full of emotion and key in Daenerys’ journey as a character.

Dragonstone castle was built digitally and its interiors were filmed in a set in Belfast. However, its magnificent staircase, with 241 stone steps, exists in the real world. And it is set in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

You can also travel to this small islet on the Bizkaia coast, in a town called Bermeo, as Daenerys and Jon Snow themselves did.

Keep in mind that the beach shown below the castle actually is Itzurun beach in Zumaia (100 kilometres away from Bermeo. Two spot on the Vasque coast linked together to create a fictional place in Westeros.

MURIOLA BEACH (Barrika): King’s Landing beach.
