La Place de l’Estrapade: Emily’s Apartment and Gabriel’s Restaurant

We move to the charming square where Emily’s apartment is located, “La Place de l’Estrapade”. Here, you will also find Gabriel’s restaurant and the bakery that Emily visits in the first episode of the series.

You are in the heart of Paris, very close to the Panthéon in the Latin Quarter and the Sorbonne University. Located inside a period building, Emily’s apartment is on Rue des Fossés Saint-Jacques. From her window, our enthusiastic protagonist enjoys an impressive view of the rooftops of Paris, a recurring visual element in the series.

Practically next door, you can visit “Les Deux Compères,” the small and charming restaurant of Gabriel, the chef with whom Emily falls in love. Just a minute’s walk from the square, you can enjoy a delicious coffee in an authentic Parisian atmosphere. Café de la Nouvelle Mairie is one of the most frequented by Emily in the series. Local cafés and restaurants play an important role in the series, not only as meeting places but also as part of the Parisian lifestyle that our intrepid protagonist explores and adopts.

Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the bohemian and student atmosphere of this area of the city dotted with small shops. If, in addition to cinema, literature is another of your passions, you have a must-see appointment at the nearby Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris, where the house museum of Victor Hugo is also located.

Place Saint-Michel and the Seine

We continue our tour and head to the nearby Place Saint-Michel, where Mindy (Emily’s inseparable friend) and her band performed together for the first time. At this point, you are surely delighted with this super charming plan. But there’s still much more. We have just arrived at one of the symbols of the city of love: the Seine.

We will walk along the beautiful promenade that flanks the river until we reach the romantic Pont Marie. Do you remember the scene where Emily gives an emotional speech to her boyfriend from Chicago about how Paris is the city of love? Don’t forget to make a wish under this bridge, as tradition says that lovers should kiss while making a wish; but it surely also works to be in love with life, oneself, or anything beautiful that makes you happy.

Place de Valois and the Gardens of Palais Royal

We continue enjoying this romantic and elegant capital and stop at the charming Place de Valois, in the heart of Paris and very close to the Palais Royal. Here the series locates the office of Savoir, an elegant building that captures the classic charm of the French capital. Inside, it adopts a sophisticated and Parisian style, reflecting the agency’s luxury and fashion aesthetic.

Probably, the magic of the City of Light and the enchantment of the optimistic Emily have already taken over your souls, and you are more than delighted with this glamorous activity. Surely you are craving more, so don’t completely abandon your senses, because there are still some locations that will leave you speechless. How about continuing to stroll through the incredible and beautiful gardens of the Palais Royal to sit on the same bench where Emily met Mindy? Do you already feel part of this beautiful city where Emily Cooper is so happy?

Jardin des Tuileries

Very nearby, we will discover the prestigious Louvre Museum, one of the most important art galleries in the world, as well as historical monuments such as the Panthéon or the Jardin des Tuileries, the first public garden in Paris, where luxurious parties were held during the Versailles court era. The name of this space comes from the old tile factories located on the riverbank. In 1664, the famous landscaper André Le Nôtre (designer of the Gardens of Versailles, among many others) gave it its current image.

Some of the most memorable moments of the series take place in these popular gardens with stunning views of the Louvre Museum and the Eiffel Tower. In a fictional restaurant set in this same place, our protagonist discovers the Kir Royal, a French specialty made with crème de cassis and champagne. Iconic settings that highlight the beauty of Paris and offer a romantic backdrop for Emily’s adventures.

From here, you can stroll along the banks of the Seine towards the Eiffel Tower, one of Paris’ must-see attractions, to enjoy a well-deserved break in one of the city’s chicest bars: ‘Les Nautes’, where Emily sings with Mindy and her band a song dedicated to Alfie. This famous spot is located in the ‘Maison des Célestins’, with unbeatable views over the Seine.

As it could not be otherwise in the city of love, the best way to end is at one of the most romantic locations in the series: the restaurant ‘Le Grand Jardin’, inside the elegant Hotel Ritz, one of the most famous and sophisticated palaces in the capital. A French-style garden where Sylvie, Emily’s boss, has a romantic breakfast with Eric in the third season of ‘Emily in Paris’.

Although only guests of the luxurious hotel can access this restaurant, dreaming is free, and you deserve a happy ending worthy of the best fairy tales: who knows… maybe a special occasion will come to stay in this dream place!

If you are excited to enjoy this cinematic experience with screenbie and ‘Emily in Paris’, we tell you all about it here!

And indeed, the city of the Seine continues to fascinate the world with that aura of elegance, style, and sophistication that envelops everything!
