This half-day tour through Queenstown and Arrowtown takes you straight to the heart of Middle-earth, with stops at some of the most iconic Lord of the Rings filming locations!

The journey begins in the Wakatipu Basin, home to The Remarkables mountain range, which featured as various mountain backdrops throughout the trilogy. From there, the route climbs up Queenstown Hill, offering panoramic views over Deer Park Heights, the setting for scenes with the Rohan refugees and the warg attack!

Next, the tour heads to the Kawarau Gorge, where the epic scene of the Argonath (Pillars of the Kings) was filmed, and continues on to Arrowtown, which stood in for the Gladden Fields, the place where the One Ring changed hands.

Near Arrowtown, the real off-road adventure begins, following an old gold mining trail along the Arrow River! A refreshing tea break is included as part of the experience! The journey ends at the entrance to Skippers Canyon, with breathtaking views over the Wakatipu Basin.

The tour is conducted in English… although in these lands of elves, dwarves, and hobbits, don’t be surprised if you catch an echo of Sindarin or Khuzdul along the way.
